Cookies

This site uses a Google measurement tool. Here is the detail and how to turn it off.

What a cookie is, and what it is not

A cookie is a file a site stores in your browser and that is sent back to the server on every visit. That is what makes it possible to follow you between pages or between sites.

localStorage is different: it stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. What we store directly is all of this second kind.

What we store on your device

Key What for Expires
microtools:tema Whether you prefer the light or dark theme Until you clear it
microtools:unidades Whether you want metric or imperial units Until you clear it
microtools:moneda The currency used to display amounts Until you clear it
microtools:recientes The last tools you opened Until you clear it
microtools:consentimiento Your answer to the cookie notice, so we stop asking Until you clear it

None of them can identify you. If you clear your browsing data they disappear and the site carries on working: you lose your display preferences and you get asked about cookies again.

Cookies and third-party services

This site can load Google Tag Manager, the tool used to manage visit measurement. It is a container: it analyses nothing by itself, but measurement tags loaded from it can use cookies or identifiers to find out how many people visit and which tools they use. It exists to decide what to build next, not to profile you and not to sell you anything.

Only if you accept

The first time you arrive, a notice appears with two buttons of the same size: Reject and Accept. Until you press Accept, your browser makes not a single request to Google. The container is not preloaded "just in case" and not loaded silently: it is simply not requested.

If you reject, or close the notice without deciding, nothing loads. There is no penalty: every tool works exactly the same.

You can change your mind at any time from , in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent reloads the page to leave the browser clean, because simply switching a flag would not undo what has already loaded.

Without JavaScript the notice cannot work, so in that case the measurement does not load either. We would rather not measure than measure without having been able to ask.

Exactly what is sent

If you accept, alongside the page visited we send usage actions:

What is never sent is the figures you put into the calculators. Your salary, your mortgage, your energy use or your grades do not leave your browser even if you accept. Nothing that could identify you is sent either.

Other ways to block it

More information in Google's policies for partner sites .

What does not change: the calculations still run in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to Google or to anyone else.

When advertising goes live

The plan is to fund the site with advertising so it stays free. When that happens:

How to clear everything

From your browser settings, under privacy or browsing data. A private window works too: close it and nothing is left.
