What we assume

  • The working week is Monday to Friday.
  • Only Spanish national public holidays are removed. The site is run from Spain; regional and local holidays are not included because they change depending on where you are.
  • Holidays are loaded for 2025 to 2028. Outside that range only weekends come out, and you are warned.
  • The conversion to hours assumes 8-hour days.

How it is calculated

The tool walks the range day by day and sorts each one into three buckets: weekend, holiday or working day. It does not use an approximate "days x 5/7" formula, which breaks as soon as the range does not start on a Monday.

That is what generic calculators usually get wrong, which is why we also show how many weekend days and how many holidays came out: you can check the answer instead of trusting it.

About the holidays

Spain has three tiers of public holiday: national, regional and local. Only the national ones are removed here, because the other two depend on where you live and work. If your region or town has its own holidays in the range, subtract them by hand.

An example

In June 2026, from the 1st to the 30th counting both ends, there are 22 working days: 30 calendar days minus 8 weekend days. June has no national holidays.

Frequently asked questions

Does it include the end day?

By default yes, because that is what you normally want when counting a work period. Untick the box for deadlines counted from the day after.

Why do regional holidays not come out?

Because they differ by region and town, and guessing yours would produce a confidently wrong number. Better to give you the national baseline and let you subtract the rest.

Does it work outside Spain?

The weekend part does, anywhere. The holiday part does not: untick the box and you get a clean Monday-to-Friday count that works in any country.
