What we assume

  • With calendar days everything counts, weekends and holidays included.
  • With working days, Saturdays, Sundays and Spanish national public holidays are skipped. The site is run from Spain and that is the holiday calendar it carries.
  • Holidays are loaded for 2025 to 2028; outside that range only weekends are skipped.

How it is calculated

Adding calendar days is straight arithmetic on the calendar, with leap years already handled. Adding working days is a different job: you step forward day by day, skipping the ones that do not count, until you have accumulated the number you asked for.

That difference matters more than it looks. A "15 day" deadline does not land on the same date depending on whether it is counted in calendar or working days, and the gap between the two can be three weeks.

An example

Add 1 working day to Friday 5 June 2026 and you get Monday 8 June: two weekend days were skipped. Add 1 calendar day and you get Saturday the 6th.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between calendar and working days?

Calendar days are every day on the calendar. Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Many legal deadlines are counted in working days, so it is worth checking which one applies to you.

Does it skip my region public holidays?

No. Only Spanish national ones. If your region or town has its own holidays in that period, the real date will be a few days later.
